getting your hands on guns in the US legally is hard .
getting an illegal weapon in the US is easy if you know the right people.

It also depends on where you are in the US too; if you’re in New York City for example you could get just about anything (for a price). If you’re in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin you might have a harder time.

I would also like to mention he had a 22 (22 is about as low a caliber as you can get it’s one step up from a bb gun) and a glock (a standard police side arm)

But enough of the sensationalism. Quite honestly I think we've reached the point where these things are not big problems. 35 killed? By any standard, a tragedy, but what is that compared to the various wars going on, or the death toll from history not 200 years ago? The inquisition and crusades?
