First off, a few really great tools I have been able to find:

* MPQ Extractor - allows you to pull textures, sounds, etc out of the WoW MPQ files into an easy-to-browse hierarchical directory.
* iShowU HD - Records anything on your computer. I mainly use this for recording WoWModelViewer when I have it running in VMWare Fusion.
* VMWare Fusion - lets me run an instance of Windows XP for Modelviewer and treat it as though it were a program just running on my desktop in OS X.
* iMovie '09 and Final Cut Express - I find I have to use them both, as each has some really nice features the other does not, and FCX is fussy about movies recorded in-game if I haven't run them through iMovie first. I'd love to find a good editor for the Mac that didn't cost thousands though.

I just use the built-in Mac recorder for WoW to record in-game footage.

These are really helpful and all, but WowModelViewer is obnoxiously temperamental and I don't have access to a lot of the cool tools I see many machinimists touting. Maybe some of you fellow Mac machinimists (and I know you exist) could help me? I'm especially looking the following:

* Plugins/filters for iMovie/FCX that would allow me to blur the backgrounds/foregrounds of shots.
* Other interesting plugins/filters.
* Lipsynching software. I know Windows machinimists have mentioned programs before that allow you to deform faces so they look like they're matching the actual words, but I don't know of any Mac versions.
* (yes this is just a pipedream) A Mac version or at least non-glitchy version of WowModelViewer, for the love of god! I would be all over helping with this if I wasn't a failure of a coder.

Thanks everyone! I haven't made any of my machinimas public yet, but I'm hoping to release my first episode in a month.
